Born at 23.11.1962 in Bucharest, Romania. Married, 2 children.

Studies: Lyceum Gh. Sincai -Bucharest (1977-1981; High school diploma), Faculty of Physics, Bucharest University (1982-1986; Bachelor), Specialization in Lasers-Plasma-Spectroscopy, Faculty of Physics, Bucharest University (1986-1987, High level specialization diploma). PhD in 1995 at the Institute of Atomic Physics in Bucharest, for studies on surface and interface local phenomena by various techniques (Physics of Condensed Matter).

Professional experience: research assistant at the Research Institute for Nuclear Power Plants, Mioveni-Pitesti, Romania (instrumentation, design of high intensity electron guns), research assistant and researcher at Institute of Physics and Technology of Materials (surface and interface studies by Mössbauer techniques), senior researcher of third and second degree at the National Institute of Materials Physics (nanomagnetism and related phenomena). Actual position: Research Professor (Scientific Researcher, first degree) at the National Institute of Materials Physics, Bucharest-Magurele. Head of the Magnetism and Superconductivity Laboratory.

Topic of interest and expertise: structure, phase composition and magnetic interactions in intermetallics, structural relaxation and kinetic of crystallization in amorphous systems, spin glasses with random magnetic anisotropy, molecular magnets, magnetism in metal-organic compounds, local electronic phenomena in catalyze, nanomagnetism and magnetic interactions and spin structure at the surface/interface of bilayer thin films with different magnetic anisotropies, exchange bias and exchange spring systems, multilayers, spintronics and spin-valves, magnetic nanopowders, magnetic nanoparticles dispersed in various solid state matrices, diluted magnetic semiconductors, magnetic fluids.

Scientific activity: More than 100 papers in ISI quoted international journals, 3 monographic articles, 2 invited papers, 11 invited lectures, 2 national patents. Hirsch index: 10. Citations: 328.
